Christchurch: Jacob Oram is likely to miss the IPL as a knee injury picked up during the ongoing ODI series against Australia has ruled him out of action for almost a month. Oram,who plays for Chennai Super Kings,suffered a partial tear of the patella tendon during the Napier ODI. Jacob Oram suffered a partial patella tendon tear. It is expected that Jacob will recover in three or four weeks, New Zealand team manager Dave Currie said in a statement.

Sidebottom ruled out

Chittagong: England seamer Ryan Sidebottom has been ruled out of the Test series against Bangladesh because of a thigh injury,coach Andy Flower said. Sidebottom is ruled out of the tour because of the injury that he had picked up in Dubai. He will be replaced by Tim Bresnan in the Test side, Flower told reporters. Sidebottom aggravated the injury in the first one-day international in Dhaka and was replaced by off-spinner James Tredwell in the second match. England also have injury worries over Stuart Broad and Graham Onions for the two-Test series.

England women beat India by two wickets in T20

Mumbai: England women got the better of their Indian counterparts by two wickets off the last ball in the first T20 International at the MCAs Bandra-Kurla Complex ground here on Thursday. Set a target of 126,the visitors achieved the target for the loss of eight wickets. Jennifer Gunn top-scored for the tourists with 34 off 24 balls batting at no five before being eighth out.

Earlier,India made 125 for five with Mithali Raj making 30 off 26.
