The Indian cricket boards president N Srinivasan has inquired with the Mumbai Cricket Association MCA as to what action is being taken after one of its vice-presidents bypassed him and wrote a letter to the International Cricket Council.
At the Board of Control for Cricket in Indias working committee meeting held recently,Srinivasan asked MCA joint-secretary PV Shetty how Vijay Patil,the president of the DY Patil Sports Academy and an MCA vice-president,shot off a letter to the ICC CEO Dave Richardson asking why matches of the womens World Cup were moved out of the DY Patil Stadium. MCA president Ravi Savant had clarified that the decision was taken by the ICC and not BCCI.
Patil then wrote letter to Richardson,who replied stating that the change of venue was a BCCIs internal matter and ICC couldnt do anything about it.
The correspondence between Patil and Richardson was forwarded to top BCCI officials,who are now unhappy with the development.
The matches Patil was referring to in the letter,included the Group B matches of the womens World Cup involving the Pakistan womens team that were shifted to Cuttack,while Mumbai hosted games at Brabourne Stadium and MIG,Bandra.
Pakistans games were moved to Cuttack after protests from various quarters following tension on the Line of Control. MCA joint-secretary PV Shetty and Vijay Patil was unavailable for the comment.
