Abhishek in no-man’s land

Delhi leg-spinner Abhishek Sharma had a scare on Tuesday as his name was missing from the list of players who were given amnesty. Sharma had submitted his no objection certificate to the DDCA two days before the May 31 cut-off date but his application could only be forwarded to the BCCI by June 1 due to administrative delays. “I submitted my application on the 29th and I have no clue why my name is not there on the list,” Sharma said. But BCCI later clarified that his case will be considered. BCCI’s chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty said: “We will consider his case as we don’t want anybody to lose out due to delays on part of associations.”
