Prince William’s girlfriend complained to Britain’s press watchdog on Thursday that she had been harassed after a photograph of her appeared in The Daily Mirror. Kate Middleton, 25, went to the Press Complaints Commission over the picture, printed on page 22 of the tabloid paper, which showed her on her way to work, a takeout cup from Starbucks in her hand. “The Press Complaints Commission has on Thursday received a formal complaint from Kate Middleton that a photograph of her in Thursday’s Daily Mirror was obtained as a result of harassment in breach of Clause 4 (Harassment) of the Code of Practice,” the Commission said in a statement.

The Daily Mirror did not immediately comment on the complaint. The focus on Middleton has been compared to that on William’s late mother, Diana. From before her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981 to her death in a 1997 Paris crash, she was routinely followed by paparazzi.
