New Delhi, May 17: United Christian Forum for Human Rights (UCFHR) today claimed that a priest was brutally attacked in Bhind in Madhya Pradesh by some youths.

The 50-year-old Catholic priest Joseph Kaithathara said in a fax message to the forum that he was attacked by six people yesterday at his home in Bhind, 82 km from Gwalior, a release from UCFHR said here.

Kaithathara said the youths gave him "forceful slaps and blows on his nose and chest" and threatened him that they would "return again and kill" him.

The Forum asked the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) to probe the incident and also look into the broader issue of attacks against the Christian community, the release added.
