In fresh disciplinary action against dissidents, Congress Legislative Party in Kerala on Wednesday removed M.P. Gangadharan as deputy leader for attending a rally called by the K. Karunakaran faction.

The decision was taken at the CLP meeting presided by CM Oommen Chandy who had said earlier that the explanation given by Gangadharan for the showcause notice was not satisfacory.

Karunakaran, before leaving for New Delhi, said removing Ganghadharan would not settle the issues in the party. Former chief minister A.K. Antony, who wanted to end the party feud by brokering a compromise, did not attend the meeting. —PTI
