MUMBAI, NOVEMBER 27: THE Mumbai police will file the chargesheet in the Gulshan Kumar murder case tomorrow.

According to a senior police officer the paper work relating to the chargesheet is over. In the four month long investigation over 300 witnesses, including several film stars, were questioned and 13 persons have so far been remanded to custody for interrogations in connection with the murder, he added. Music baron Gulshan Kumar was gunned down in broad daylight near a temple at Four Bungalows, Andheri (W) allegedly by Dubai-based gangster Abu Salem’s gunmen on August 12 this year.

The five-member death squad pumped 18 bullets into Kumar killing him on the spot. However, the Mumbai police have not been able to get the prime accused music director Nadeem from London to face trial in India. Another accused Tips Cassettes owner Ramesh Taurani could not be interrogated in connection with his alleged involvement in the murder after he was granted bail by Mumbai High Court on October 23. This in spite of the police claims that they have collected other incriminating material to make a strong prima facie case against Taurani.

The Supreme Court has ordered Taurani to surrender before the authorities before December 3. Earlier, crime branch interrogated film stars like Aditya Pancholi, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Chunkey Pandey, Jackie Shroff, Deepti Bhatnagar, Pooja Bhatt and others in connection with the murder.
