Police today collected the voice sample of Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai and also recorded her statement to check the authenticity of the tape in which actor Salman Khan flaunted his alleged underworld links.

A crime branch team reached Aishwarya’s house in suburban Bandra this morning and recorded her statement, while experts recorded a voice sample, sources said.

Salman was yesterday summoned to the crime branch office in Andheri, where his statement and voice sample were recorded.

Although the sources close to the actress said the police team had recorded her statement and voice sample, DCP Dhananjay Kamalakar of Mumbai Crime Branch denied there was any such move.

“We have not recorded her statement or taken voice samples,” he said.
