Police identifies man behind TN train blasts

CHENNAI, December 20: In a major breakthrough in the `serial train blast cases’ at Tiruchi and Erode, the Tamil Nadu police has established the identity of one Babu (aged about 27 years) of Islamic Defence Force who could have masterminded the blasts. His connection with other organisations is being probed.

The breakthrough is considered a shot in the arm for the State police which is directly handled by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, even as the government is waiting for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take up the probe after the State government formally made a request to the Centre.
