VADODARA, May 12: The controversial `Pokhran’ cards issued by the VMC for an official function held yesterday continued to stir controversy, with the Congress saying today that three municipal staffers hauled up for their lapse should not have been issued notices.

The noitced had been issued on Tuesday night.

Opposition leader in the VMC Kanchanbhai Parmar and city party vice-president I D Patel said they would write a letter to this effect to in-charge Municipal Commissioner Anil Mukim on Thursday.

Parmar claimed they would even suggest that Mayor Bharti Vyas be reprimanded for her role in the affair.

Vyas, however, maintained her stand on Wednesday, stating that she had no reason to interfere in administrative matters. On being asked why the officers had to pay for carrying out her instructions, Vyas said they should have shown the card to their seniors.
