Opposing acquisition of farm land for setting up a thermal power plant near here, PMK founder S Ramadoss on Sunday warned that he would lead an agitation against the state Government if it went ahead with the proposed project.
Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had already stated that his government would not acquire agricultural land for setting up industries, he said after listening to farmers8217; grievances on the issue. Stating that the farmers were not prepared to sell their farm land even if offered crores of rupees, he said: 8220;I hope the Chief Minister will honour the adage that people8217;s verdict is God8217;s verdict. If not, I will lead an agitation against the Government.8221;
