PUNE, July 6: Taking serious note of the poor state of city roads following the onset of the monsoons, Pune Municipal Commissioner Rajiv Agarwal today ordered the civic road department to establish a special cell to repair the pothole-ridden roads on a war footing.
In an official communique issued to press here today, Agarwal said he has directed all the 12 divisional ward offices to give top priority to road repair work. Agarwal requests citizens to inform officials concerned at the special cell about potholes that cause inconvenience to smooth movement of traffic and pedestrians.
The special cell will begin functioning from tomorrow itself. Citizens may lodge their complaints on telephone number 322521 (extension 557) during office hours – from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. The special cell will function even on Sundays and public holidays, Agarwal said.
Besides this, citizens can also contact the local divisional ward office to lodge their complaint about potholes and other road repair works which they feel should be carried out immediately.

Complaints at the divisional ward offices would be accepted between 9 am and 5 pm. Patit Pavan Sanghatana activists had staged a dharna at Agarwal’s office yesterday drawing attention of to poor condition of the city roads.
