Apart of the delicious spread of events that the Alliance Francaise has organised in celebration of its 60th year anniversary is a retrospective of Alan Delon’s films. The 63-year-old actor is one of the few French film stars to be internationally acclaimed. His career as an actor is greatly owned to his extraordinary physical attraction. At 17, Delon joined the army to escape a harsh childhood. After a stint in Indochina, he returned to Paris and started hunting for a job and served in Art Cafés so he could meet actors and directors. He was discovered by the American producer David Selznick, a la Lana Turner, when he was hanging around at the Cannes Film Festival admiring the crowds dressed in a rented dinner jacket. The passes are available at the Alliance Francaise, Theosophy Hall, Marine Lines.
