CHANDIGARH, January 20: Sarees and dress materials in silk from various parts of the country are among the various attractions at the exhibition-cum-sale organised at Phulkari Emporium, Sector 17, here today.The exhibition offers a wide variety of sarees, silk material, lehangas, lachas and suits at a discount of up to 50 per cent. One can pick up attractive silk sarees at the exhibition for both formal and semi-formal wear. These are priced from Rs 600 to Rs 1,275. Sarees from South India in silk and crepe can make a good purchase, too.For party time, one can choose from the range of designer suits made by organisation. Made in plain silk, tussar silk, satin and crepes, these suits and lachas are attractively embroidered. Then there is the bridal collection, full with heavy sarees suits and lehangas.Among the other sarees for formal wear, there are ``kora'' silk sarees which are heavily embroidered and can be of special interest for brides. These are priced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 4,000. The brocade wedding sarees are from Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000.The silk stoles available at the exhibition can be teamed with suits for a chic effect. There are also silk scarves priced at Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 and cotton sarees from West Bengal ranging from Rs 275 to Rs 1,000.The exhibition also offers sarees and suits in kantha work. For formal wear, one can choose from Kanjivaram silk sarees and lehangas. There are also chiffon sarees which can be picked up at attractive prices. The exhibition, which will continue up to February 14, is drawing a good response.
