PeopleSoft to add 1,000 people by this year-end

World’s second largest provider of enterprise application software, Nasdaq-listed PeopleSoft, on Tuesday announced that it would be adding 1,000 people in its Bangalore-based India Services Centre (ISC) and India Development Centre (IDC) by this year-end. This effectively means that PeopleSoft would more than triple its headcount for its global development and services activities in the country. PeopleSoft has partnered with systems integrator Hexaware to establish the ISC.

‘‘Our accelerated ramp up plan is in direct response to the high quality, rapid output we are seeing from our centres in India and customer demand for high quality, offshore implementation services. This is also a reflection of the increased market opportunity that we see for PeopleSoft in India as one of the fastest growing markets worldwide,’’ Ram Gupta, executive V-P (products and technology) of PeopleSoft, said in a statement here.
