NCP president Sharad Pawar today tried to queer the ‘‘feel good’’ pitch by lambasting the NDA Government and accused it of being ‘‘cut off from ground realities’’.
Having finally ruled out the NDA option in favour of the Congress for a pre-poll tie-up, Pawar’s agenda was clear when he advocated the need for like-minded parties with a belief in a common minimum programme to come together as a viable alternative to the BJP-led coalition. ‘‘The NCP stands for finishing off the NDA, which is a threat to the nation. We are willing to go with anybody believing in this. Be it the Congress, DMK, Laloo Yadav or Mayawati,’’ he said. Pawar told party workers that problems like seat-sharing would be ironed out in the near future.
