AURANGABAD, OCT 1: Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Sharad Pawar on Wednesday compared the Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party Government in the State to anti-socials in haste to amass as much wealth as possible, and warned that it will not be long before Maharashtra would collapse.Addressing office-bearers of the Congress Committee from seven districts of Maharashtra, the Maratha stalwart said, after a two-year-long ``wait and watch'' policy, he now felt that time had come for his party to reveal the true colours of Shiv Sena-BJP government for all to see.``This is a government which believes in flexing money and muscle power, and cannot differentiate between a draught and monsoon,'' he said.Pawar, who was at his sarcastic best expressed surprise at the number of Hindi movies that the Thackeray family, first the son and now the daughter-in-law, was churning out at regular intervals. ``With each film production costing over Rs four crore, I am clueless as to where this family gets all this money,'' Pawar questioned.``If all this is in the name of service to the field of arts than how come this government coolly forgets naming some recipient for the prestigious Lata Mangeshkar award for the year?'' he wondered. The fact that the Sena-BJP Government had failed to provide the allocated financial aid to the Annabhav Sathe, Vasantrao Naik and Mahatma Phule, Welfare Corporations speaks volumes of the concern it has for the poor and downtrodden people of the state, Pawar said sarcastically.Taking a dig at his arch-rival Gopinath Munde, Pawar said the Deputy Chief Minister had come to believe that he was the nath (lord) of all the gopis (maidens) in his constituency - Beed.``How else does than one explain the day-light incidents of moleslation of school and college-going girls in Munde's home town, Pawar asked. With an obvious hint at the Barkha scandal, Pawar said, ``I am ready to make some concessions, but when office-bearers of the Panchayat Samiti of Munde's home town - Parli - were caught with their pants down (Pawar quoted the incident that occurred at Takwadi from Parli), the rulers appear to have crossed all limits of a decent society,'' Pawar said. The announcement on measures to meet scarcity in 24 tehsils made by Chief Minister Manohar Joshi was a mockery of the people, Pawar said, adding that perennial draught-prone tehsils found no place in the list of 24 tehsils. The Marathwada Regional Congress meet was characterised by the presence of a large number of Congressmen from each known faction and camp.
