Stepping up their opposition to BJD president and Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, rebels in the party held a meeting near here accusing him of having failed to protect the interests of the state.
The rebels, who gathered at Paradipgarh yesterday, lambasted the Chief Minister for his inability to take up with the Centre the delay in establishment of a giant oil refinery project here.
They also alleged that Naveen had failed to take up matters linked to Orissa’s economic development with the Vajpayee-led government despite his party being a partner in the ruling coalition at the Centre.
The rebels, including Lok Sabha members Prasanna Patsani, Prabhat Samantaray and Kumudini Patnaik, met employees and Union leaders at the refinery project site.
