Undaunted by criticism, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik maintains that the MOU signed by his government with the South Korean steel giant Posco was prepared with utmost care and after protracted negotiations.
This was done by keeping the interest of Orissa uppermost in mind, Patnaik said in a letter to state BJP chief Jual Oram yesterday.
The letter was in reply to Oram’s four-page letter of July 1, in which he had raised several issues relating to the MOU with Posco, including the insistence of the South Korean company to export iron ore from Orissa.
The Chief Minister also invited him for a discussion to clear his doubts.
Oram said the reply had not answered his questions.
