The pre-poll alliance between Ram Vilas Paswan’s LJP and Laloo Prasad Yadav’s RJD is over, with the former accusing the RJD of ‘‘sabotaging’’ the chances of its candidates in the just-finished Lok Sabha polls.Briefing mediapersons after a meeting of LJP national office-bearers in the Capital, party general-secretary R.G. James blamed Rashtriya Janata Dal ministers, legislators and other leaders for the defeat of party candidates in four Lok Sabha seats. LJP president and Union Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan presided over the meeting.James said, ‘‘We want the RJD leadership to take action against these people and dismiss the ministers concerned from the government. The RJD-LJP alliance was only for the Lok Sabha polls and that is over.’’ That Paswan was still sore over losing the Railway portfolio to the RJD chief was apparent from James’s statement.‘‘In a coalition, we expect the elder brother to be magnanimous. You cannot reach the top by sitting on Paswan’s shoulders and then cut him to size,’’ said the Lok Janashakti Party general-secretary.
