Second seeds Virginia Ruano Pascua of Spain and Paola Suarez of Argentina captured the US Open women’s doubles title on Sunday, storming to a 6-2, 6-1 rout of Russia’s Elena Dementieva and Slovakia’s Janette Husarova. It was the winners’ second Grand Slam doubles title this year. The French Open champions broke their sixth-seeded opponents four times en route to a 64-minute thrashing.“It’s exciting,” said Suarez, who has been teamed with Ruano Pascual for almost eight years. “We know each other too well. It’s a long time that we’ve played together, and I think we are a good combination together.”
