She was 61 and is survived by a son and three daughters. She was suffering from cancer. Bhagwati was elected to the state Assembly on a Congress ticket from Bhinai Assembly segment of Ajmer district in 1972 and 1980 and was inducted in the then council of ministers led by Jagannath Pahadia in 1980. She was the first woman from the Scheduled Caste community in Rajasthan who was elected to the Assembly twice from a general seat.VHP to hold Hindu-Buddhist meetsAYODHYA: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has decided to organise Hindu-Buddhist conferences from November 21 to 23. At a press conference here on Sunday, Ganar demanded minimum wages for the unorganised workers in the country. He also demanded immediate removal of all anomalies with regard to provision of jobs to the SC/ST people.
