NEW DELHI, May 3: Mamta Model School and St George’s School (Mussoorie) have qualified for the semifinals of the All India Nivia Football Tournament after logging 13 and 12 points respectively from Group B.

On Sunday, St George’s School outplayed Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, 9-0 while Mamta Model defeated DAV Public School, Dayanand Vihar 4-1. Pankaj Gurung (3), Rohat Negi (2), Sandeep Gurung (2), Jatinder Vohra and S. Santhanam scored for the Mussoorie team who led 3-0 at the breather.

After Sameer Sood scored for DAV School in the ninth minute, Ninja (2), Kuldeep and Man Singh scored for Mamta Model to clinch the issue for the Vikas Puri school.

In another match, Saini Public School, Rewari beat Modern Public School, Vasant Vihar 2-1. Vikas Yadav and Rajinder Kumar netted for the winners while Arjun Singh Bawa scored for the losers.

Hosts Moti Bagh Senior Secondary School and Vasant Valley School (Vasant Kunj) qualified for the Super League from Pool A in the Deorani Memorial Football Inter-School Sub-Junior (Under-14) Tournament. The two teams will meet each other on Monday to decide the top position in the poolSt Mark’s and Shiksha Bharti also have qualified for the Super League from Pool B.

Birla Vidya Niketan will take on Naval Public School while General Raj Public School is scheduled to meet Springdales.
