CHANDIGARH, July 21: The local branch of the All India Crime Prevention Society, has constituted a nine-member vigilance committee to keep an eye on the police and the VIP’s vehicles flouting traffic regulation in the City.

In a meeting held on Sunday, the society resolved to report all violations of traffic rules by police and VIP vehicles, unauthorised useof blinkers, hooters and exceeding speed limit to the IGP, Chandigarh, from July 25, a press release stated.

Committee members include, among others, a retired Chief Judicial Magistrate, retired PCS and police officials and advocates, it was added.
