NEW DELHI, January 8: The present Mohan Meakins cricket team is a far cry from the one in the Eighties which had in its ranks several Ranji Trophy players from Punjab and Delhi. With not many regular cricketers representing the breweries team at present, they went down to Pelicans by eight wickets in a A-1 division match in the DDCA League at Kotla 1 today.Jitender Pandey scored an unbeaten 83 (nine fours) as Pelicans reached the target of 150 in just 25.3 overs.

Punjab National Bank, another regular team in the league, suffered a 57-run loss at the hands of Delhi Cricket Club at the Yamuna Sports Complex in their A-2 division match.

Oriental Bank of Commerce, powered by K K Talukdar’s all-round performance (61 and 3 for 34) defeated Ravi Brothers by 80 runs in a C division match at Kotla 2.
