NEW DELHI, April 29: The Special Branch of the Delhi Police have arrested a Pakistani national and his Indian counterpart for their alleged involvement in a fake currency racket.

The police have also recovered 5,000 fake currency notes, from Hazi Mohammad Ismail, 46 — who hails from Karachi — and Nazar Mohammed who runs a tea-stall.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Special Branch sent a decoy to Nazar Mohammad. The decoy struck a deal that on a payment of Rs 500 he would be handed over fake notes worth Rs 1,000. As soon as the transaction took place the police arrested both of them.
