PESHAWAR, Nov 16: Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram is looking for a win against West Indies in the series that starts here tomorrow to fend off mounting criticism of his performance.A furious Pakistan Cricket Board chief executive Majid Khan has demanded that the team improve after losing a series against South Africa and failing in a recent four nation tournament to mark Pakistan’s golden jubilee.

The pace spearhead of Akram and Waqar Younis have passed their prime, the PCB chief commented as Pakistan failed to reach the one-day final won by South Africa after thrashing the world champions Sri Lanka. With Waqar dropped for the first Test, the 30-year-old Akram’s abilities will be tested. “I take it as a challenge and am confident that we will have a winning start to the series,” Akram said.
