Condemning the abortive bid by terrorists to attack the makeshift Ram temple at Ramjanambhoomi in Ayodhya today, Pakistan voiced its opposition to all forms of terrorism and asserted that the incident would not have any impact on the Indo-Pak peace process.

‘‘Pakistan is against terrorism in all its forms,’’ a brief statement by foreign office spokesman Jalil Abbas Jilani said. Condemning the attack, Jilani also told local TV channels here that it will not have any impact on relations between the two countries and the on-going peace process as it was a ‘‘local issue’’.

‘‘We have strongly condemned the incident. Such incidents, especially when religious sites are involved, are condemnable,’’ he told private channel Geo TV.

‘‘It will not have any impact on Pakistan-India relations as it is a local issue. Pakistan is committed to the peace process,’’ he said, adding Islamabad wants solutions to all problems with India.

Meanwhile, speaking to PTV, Jilani said recent accusations by Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee that the infrastructure of cross-border terrorism had not been dismantled were ‘‘baseless’’, asserting that Pakistan was absolutely committed to fight terrorism in all its forms.
