ISLAMABAD, May 12: The Lahore High Court today dismissed a petition seeking leading Pakistani journalist Najam Sethi's production in the court while the Nawaz Sharif government confirmed his arrest by ISI to investigate his suspected links with ``hostile intelligence agencies.''Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar dismissed the habeas corpus petition, filed by Sethi's wife Jugnu Mohsin, agreeing with a government lawyer that Sethi's detention was outside the jurisdiction of civilian courts.The court also dismissed a petition challenging Sethi's detention and another for the registration of a criminal case for his ``kidnapping'' by plainclothes police from his bedroom before dawn on Saturday without an arrest warrant.The court was informed by Deputy Attorney General Sher Zaman Khan that the Friday Times Editor was in ISI's custody. Sethi has been accused of ``endangering the country's sovereignty'' by making ``anti-national'' speeches during his recent visit to New Delhi.Mohsin said she would movethe Supreme Court for the recovery of her husband and added he was being victimised for giving an interview to BBC on the alleged corruption of the Sharif government.Meanwhile, the Sharif government today criticized the US for its remarks condemning Sethi's arrest, calling it ``unwarranted interference'' in Islamabad's internal affairs.
