Leander Paes and Martin Damm breezed into the semi-finals of the BA-CA Tennis Trophy in Vienna, Austria, with a straight sets win over Mardy Fish and Robby Ginepri of the USA today. The second seeded Indo-Czech duo beat Fish-Ginepri 6-4, 6-3 in an hour and five minutes in the quarter finals.

Paes-Damm will play the winner of the match between Jurgen Melzer and Alexander Peya of Austria and the Polish pair of Marcin Matkowsi and Mariusz Fyrstenberg for a place in the final.

In Moscow, Sania Mirza was today ousted from the WTA Kremlin Cup after her doubles quarter final defeat at the hands of top seed Cara Black of Zimbabwe and Liezel Huber of the USA here.

Sania, partnering Patty Schnyder of Switzerland, went down 6-3, 5-7, 10-7. Russian top seed Svetlana Kuznetsova battled back from a set down to move into the last eight with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 win over Argentina’s Gisela Dulko here yesterday.

Second seed Maria Sharapova of Russia fell to unheralded Belarussian Victoria Azarenka, who won 7-6 (9), 6-2.
