Although the Supreme Court has advised the nun, who was allegedly raped in Orissa, to cooperate in the investigation, the police are still in the dark about her whereabouts.

“We have no clue on the whereabouts of the nun who left Orissa immediately after the incident,” a senior police officer said and hoped she would return following the Apex court’s direction.

Director General of Police Manmohan Praharaj assured that the police would provide full protection to her in the state.

Senior Christian leaders, including Cuttack- Bhubaneswar Archbishop Raphael Cheenath also clueless about her.

“I don’t know where the nun is. I have not spoken to her for some time. I would like to speak to her,” he said.

Cheenath, who had petitioned the Supreme Court seeking a direction to Orissa government to hand over the investigation to the CBI, said he was ‘disappointed’ by the verdict.

While speculations were rife that the 29-year-old nun was somewhere in Kerala, Vicar-General Joseph Kalathil said he had met her immediately after the August 25 incident in Bhubaneswar.
