Orissa govt defers Budhia decision

The Orissa government on Tuesday deferred its decision on restraining Budhia Singh from running long distances even as his coach threatened to initiate legal action against those involved in the boy’s medical examination which advised against making him undertake such exercise.

‘‘My department has discussed the medical reports of the boy. Since secretaries of law and home departments were not available to give their opinion, we are deferring our decision,’’ Minister for Women and Child Development Pramila Mallick said.
