PUNE, Aug 1: Leader of the Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council Chhagan Bhujbal, accompanied by his party colleagues, today called on Governor P C Alexander at Raj Bhavan and urged him to dismiss the Sena-BJP government.Bhujbal and Madhukar Pichad, Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly, drove down to Pune from Mumbai to submit a memorandum to the Governor - he is camping in the city at present - following noisy scenes in the Assembly on Friday. The Congress leaders had a meeting with the Governor for half-an hour.Later talking to mediapersons, Bhujbal said they had requested the Governor to inform the Union Government about the recent developments in and outside the House. He said the party had urged the Governor to ask the Union Government to send a team to Maharashtra and dismiss the alliance government after conducting the necessary inquiry.Bhujbal criticised Sena supremo Bal Thackeray who he said was trying to create communal tension in the State by using provocative languageover the tabling of Srikrishna report in the Assembly. He alleged that the deportation of Bangladeshis was also aimed at creating communal tension in Maharashtra.Responding to a query, Bhujbal said they had no plans to meet Union Home Minister L K Advani, who happens to be in the city, to press the demand for sending a Central team to Maharashtra.
