NAGPUR, DEC 15: The Shiv Sena-BJP opposition on Wednesday submitted a notice of no confidence motion against Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Arun Gujrathi, Opposition leader Narayan Rane said here.

“We have submitted a notice of no-confidence against the Speaker with signatures of more than 30 MLAs of Sena and BJP including Gopinath Munde,” Rane said at a news conference.

When asked how the Opposition could move a no-confidence motion against the Speaker after mere three days experience of his working style, Rane said, “The business of the house is not being conducted as per rules and laid down procedures”.

He reiterated that the Speaker was behaving in a “partial” manner and never allowed the Opposition to speak. The Speaker was not even giving ruling on the point of orders raised by the Opposition, he said.

Since the commencement of the session, there was no dialogue between the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Opposition leader and group leadersof other parties, Rane said.
