According to Crime Branch officials, Naval officer Emile Jerome Mathew (25) and his girlfriend Kannada movie actress Mariah Monica Susaira (27) have told interrogators that the only remorse they feel for allegedly murdering Neeraj Grover is the fact that their promising careers have been ruined with their arrests. In the ongoing probe to collect evidence against the duo, the police have now also recovered a blood-stained seat cover of the car in which they drove to Manor in Thane (Rural) to dispose of Grover’s body.Mathew and Susaira were arrested by the Crime Branch on May 21 for their alleged role in the gruesome murder of Grover, a top executive of Synergy Adlabs who was formerly with Balaji Telefilms. According to the Crime Branch, after he was murdered, Grover’s body was cut into several pieces that were later burnt.“Mathew and Susaira are absolutely remorseless about the murder, and during interrogations they have said that the only thing they regret is the fact that they got caught by the police and that their promising careers are now completely ruined,” said Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Rakesh Maria.“Our investigations are on in terms of collecting evidence, and building up a strong case. We have now recovered samples of blood stains that have been discovered on a seat cover in the car the two accused drove to Manor in. The sample has been sent to the forensic laboratory for analysis,” said Maria.According to the Crime Branch, while Mathew chopped Grover’s body into pieces with a bread-knife, Susaira placed them in three bags.On Sunday, the Crime Branch took Mathew to the crime scene along with forensic experts, and made him reenact the entire murder for purposes of collecting such evidence. Susaira had been taken to the apartment for a similar exercise a day before.
