VADODARA, Feb 21: The All-India SC/ST Employees’ Welfare Association of ONGC, Vadodara organised a mega eye diagnostic and intra ocular lens (IOL) transplantation camp at Mayo Hospital, Sama-Savli Road on February 20-21. While N Lal, Executive Director of ONGC and Dwipa Mankodi, Managing Trustee of Mayo Medicare and Research Centre Trust formally inaugurated the camp, doctors and paramedical staff of ONGC and Mayo Hospital rendered voluntary services at the camp.

ONGC extended monetary assistance for the IOL transplant surgery and post-operative care of 75 villagers. Villagers were also given free medicines for primary eye ailments and spectacles distributed to those with poor eyesight. Members of the All-India SC/ST Employees’ Welfare Association had initially surveyed nearly 60 villages and identified patients in need of eye surgery.

Health club: The Health Club at ONGC, Vadodara has been recently expanded with the addition of 12 new equipments like jogger, exercise bike, treadmill, among others. B S Talwar, vice-president of ONGC Regional Sports Council, handed over these equipments.

Donation: ONGC’s Well Stimulation Services contributed Rs 50,000 for the construction of a toilet block for students of Saij Mishr Shala in village Saij. The toilets were constructed free of charge by Padam Shree Ishwarbhai Patel of Safai Vidyalaya, Ahmedabad.

Industrial exhibition: The INDEG Group of TBG, ONGC participated in the vendor development group of VCCI ’99. Besides a brief display of the activities of ONGC, they also displayed some of equipments and items. A working model of the mobile desert rig was also displayed at the ONGC stall.
