VADODARA, Dec 13: The ONGC, Regional Office, Vadodara and Lokswasthya Mandals’ Trust for Reaching the Unreached organised a diagnostic camp for general surgery and gynaecological problems in Dabka of Padra taluka on December 13. Jiwa Ram, Group General Manager (drilling), ONGC inaugurated the camp. About 30 critical patients will be operated free and given post operative treatment. Simultaneously, primary health care training is being imparted to 25 workers to prepare them for community health work. This camp will cover 10 villages of the taluka.

Cultural programme: A Cultural programme was organised at ONGC’s Officers’ Club, Vadodara on December 11, where inmates of the Hindu Anath Ashram of Nadiad presented folk dances. Among others, N Lal, Executive Director, ONGC was present at the function.

Inauguration: The inauguration of the Pre-Conference Tutorials of the International Conference on Networking India and the World,’ organised by IEEE India Council and IEEE Gujarat Section, was held on December 9 at ONGC’s IRS auditorium, Ahmedabad. Professor H M Desai, acting vice-chancellor, Gujarat University inaugurated the function. The twin International Conferences organised by IEEE were declared open by governor Anshuman Singh on December 10.

Medical camp: ONGC, Mahila Samiti, Vadodara organised a medical camp ON December 13 8at Chikodra village near Tarsali. Free consultancy and medicines were provided to the needy. ONGC doctors as well as doctors from the city, including Dr U C Jain, Dr Subarato Tripathy, Dr V K Agrawal, Dr R Sonwal, Dr D P Mohanty, Dr B L Mohanty, Dr Seema Dubey, Dr Gupta as well as the paramedical staff of ONGC and the executive members of the Mahila Samiti rendered their services at the camp.

Sports: ONGC, Western Region won accolates in a number of sports activities. The ONGC Western Region golf team, comprising captain N S Rathore, Rajesh Maltta, Rajeev Bansal, Dr D S Rawat, Dr N K Jit, S K Shrivastav, was declared runner-ups in the ONGC Inter-Regional Golf Tournament in Dehrudun recently. The ONGC kabbadi team from Ahmedabad project defeated BPCL kabaddi team in the final match and won the All-India Petroleum Sports Promotion Board Kabbadi Tournament conducted in Mumbai in the first week of December. The ONGC, Western Region football team was declared runners-up in the IPCL Football Tournament conducted recently at IPCL, Vadodara.
