Triplets (one girl and two boys) were born to Sharada Ahire at a private nursing home in Thane on May 22. Though the girl was normal, the boys were attached to each other at the torso. Soon after the birth at 11.45 am the babies were referred to Dr Meisheri.

The babies were brought to Wadia hospital at 2.30 pm following which investigations like X-rays, tests involving injecting of dye through the rectum and a colour doppler study were conducted. Senior Cardiologist Dr Bharat Dalvi attached to Wadia hospital found that the babies’ hearts were joint at the level of the ventricles.
