Two days after 5,000 litres of oil spilled into the sea from an Indian Oil Corporation pipeline, the leakage continues with technicians still unable to locate the source of the fault, police said.

‘‘Though the spillage into the sea was stopped on Saturday, the oil from the pipeline is still leaking into the IOC complex. The company’s technicians are unable to locate the fault,’’ said Senior Inspector Mahesh Gaonkar.

The Goa government has asked IOC to stop work at Kharrewado jetty. South Goa collector J.B. Singh said complete stoppage of work has been ordered. Vasco da Gama police have registered a case against Senior Terminal Manager R.K. Srivastava and operation officer D.R. Sawant.
