NEW DELHI, SEPT 9: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the Congress student wing, today swept the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections for the first time in its history wiping out its traditional rival, the RSS-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

NSUI nominee Amit Malik beat his ABVP rival Monika Verma by a margin of 6532 votes to become the new president of the students’ union, while Nitu Verma (NSUI) was elected vice-president trouncing Rasal Singh of ABVP as per the results announced here this afternoon. Tarun Kumar and Harsh Chaudhury of nsui were elected secretary and joint secretary respectively winning over ABVP candidates Aditya Jha and Trilok Singh.
