Scam-accused former stock broker Ketan Parekh was on Monday arrested here in connection with the Rs 120 crore payment crisis on the Calcutta Stock Exchange which took place in March 2001.
According to officials, the Mumbai police arrested Parekh after a Kolkata court issued a non-bailable warrant against Parekh.
The former broker who was arrested late on Monday evening will be handed over to the Kolkata police team which had arrived on Monday with the Kolkata court’s order. Kolkata police had sought the help of the city police in arresting Parekh.
So far, 17 persons have been arrested in connection with the CSE scam till November 29. This includes top CSE functionaries and former MD of SHCIL B. V. Gaud. The Kolkata police had earlier arrested former president of CSE Dinesh Singhania.
