The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is still to decide on whether it would support the UPA during the trust vote in Parliament on July 22 and is holding its cards close to its heart. JMM chief Shibu Soren, who remained confined to his house in Bokaro on Thursday, talked to party vice president Hemlal Murmu, who is camping in the national capital, over the phone. The decision on the trust vote would be taken at a party meeting on July 19.“We will take a decision before the D-day,” Murmu told The Indian Express. “We are not in a hurry to open our cards, and are waiting for the opportune moment,” said JMM secretary Madan Naik.Insiders say Soren wants to strike a deal to back the Manmohan Singh Government — either the post of Jharkhand CM or a berth in the Union Cabinet along with a post of minister of state. So far, some of the UPA constituents including RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Jharkhand’s Deputy CM Stephen Marandi were not ready to accept Soren as the CM.
