The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress are going it together for the Assembly polls but there is a question mark over who will be projected as the chief ministerial candidate.

JMM chief Shibu Soren is, of course, expecting the job but the Congress has yet to make up its mind. At this stage, Soren only insists his is a strong force—after all, the JMM swept off the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls.

‘‘We are strong in Jharkhand and we got victory for the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections,’’ said the former Coal and Mines minister. ‘‘The person with the maximum amount of experience should lead,’’ he added, hinting the JMM will enter an alliance as long as it will lead the coalition.

Soren also said the alliance cobbled together by the Congress, JMM, RJD and CPI for the Lok Sabha polls will remain. ‘‘The four-party alliance will stay,’’ the JMM leader said.
