Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan today reiterated that he had no intention of leaving the UPA coalition and joining the NDA, even after a call for unity was made by the NDA to fight RJD forces in Bihar.

‘‘I took a risk when I joined the NDA to oust the RJD but that did not happen. I can’t make that blunder again,’’ he said.

At today’s NDA meeting, the possibility of a tie-up with the LJP was discussed but BJP members took objection to Paswan’s continued criticism on their party. The NDA resolution stated there was a need to ‘‘emancipate Bihar from the corrupt and anti-people RJD-Congress rule.’’

The resolution further stated, ‘‘ We call upon all anti-RJD forces in the state to unite to give effect to people’s keen desire for change in the forthcoming Assembly elections.’’

Paswan, however, said he had no intention of changing his stance towards the BJP. ‘‘From the beginning, I have maintained that the LJP will have no truck with the BJP. I have never told the JD(U) that you should come out of the NDA. It is the JD(U) that started giving me the offer…then also I said the CM’s post holds no importance for me.’’

The possibility of a LJP-JD(U) tie-up seemed a far-off proposition, with the JD(U) and the BJP reaffirming their ties today. JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav said, ‘‘First let Paswan come out of the UPA, then we will think about it.’’
