Kolkata Knight Riders are believed to be close to striking a deal with England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff for the next year’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but the franchisee chief executive denies the reports.

“It’s a bit too early to speculate on next year’s deal,” Knight Riders CEO Joy Bhattacharya said.

“We are waiting for the IPL committee to make the rules clear for the second edition — whether the $5 million cap remains or will be done away with,” he added. Reports from London, however, suggested that Shah Rukh had talked to Flintoff during his visit there last week.
