PATNA, Aug 1: In the face of mounting demand for dismissal of Bihar's Rabri Devi government, State Samata Party president Raghunath Jha today threatened that party's Central ministers would not be allowed to enter the State after October 15 if President's rule was not imposed by that time.Jha made the statement in the presence of senior party leader and Union Railway Minister Nitish Kumar.``We will not allow entry of our Central ministers after October 15. We will gherao them (ministers) and organise agitational programmes to mobilise public support against the corrupt Rabri Devi regime,'' Jha said addressing the valedictory function of the State council of the party here.Addressing the function, Nitish Kumar, declared he was ready to step down if the party's central executive adopted a resolution to that effect.``There are important reasons for our being in the Union Cabinet. We do not want the Vajpayee government to be destabilised at this juncture,'' he said. The party has two ministers GeorgeFernandes (Defence) and Nitish Kumar (Railways) in the Vajpayee government. He, however, asserted that all steps would be taken to rid the State of the ``reign of terror unleashed by the RJD regime.''Nitish Kumar also asked partymen to prepare for mid-term elections in Bihar by the end of the year. The party's deposed State secretary general Shivanand Tiwari and leader of Samata Legislature Party in the State, Brishen Patel, suggested resignation by Samata legislators to enable them to launch a concerted pre-poll campaign against the ruling party.Patel said the party should not renege on its promise to rid the State of the ``RJD misrule even if it means collapse of the BJP-led ministry.''However, differences surfaced in the meeting on this point with the incumbent State party secretary general, Brahmanand Mandal, saying that a resolution for resignation by legislators should have come in a written form. He suggested that the matter be discussed by the State executive in detail.Intervening in thediscussion, Nitish Kumar said, ``We had pledged to rid the State of the RJD misrule. We had never said we will ensure dismissal of the government. We are committed to our pledge.''Kumar, however, did not elaborate on what would be the party's strategy other than Rabri government's dismissal to ``rid the State of the misrule.''
