NEW DELHI, MARCH 14: The Union cabinet today left it to a new government to take a decision on the report of Himachal Pradesh Governor Rama Devi recommending imposition of President's rule in the state because of political stalemate.Official sources said a meeting of the Union cabinet, presided over by Prime Minister I K Gujral felt that the decision on clamping Central rule in Himachal Pradesh should be left to the new government which would assume office soon. Home Minister Indrajit Gupta had discussed the Governor's report with the Prime Minister yesterday.Rama Devi had recommended imposition of President's rule as neither Congress nor BJP was in a position to prove its majority in the state Assembly. The Virbhadra Singh ministry had resigned on March 12 ahead of the scheduled floor test.
