CHENNAI, MARCH 27: Maharashtra’s Nitin Kirtane claimed the coveted title beating defending champion Vinod Sridhar in the Indian Oil Servo All-India Invitation Tennis Championship which ended at the Krishnan Tennis Centre here this evening.

Nitin made most of the error prone Vinod Sridhar, who wilted under pressure situations to win the final 6-4, 6-1 and collect the winners prize money of Rs 45,000 while Vinod received Rs 22,500.

As the match commenced, the games were going on serve till the fourth game. Here, Kirtane got his rhythm and made it five-two before clinching the first set. In the second, Vinod was able to hold his serve only once before caving in meekly.
