Nine more persons succumbed to encephalitis in two hospitals in the district, officials said on Tuesday. With these deaths, the encephalitis toll this year has risen to 107, they said. Addl Director (health) L P Rawat said eight children died at BRD Medical College hospital while one death occurred at the district hospital here. Thirty-two fresh encephalitis patients have been admitted to hospitals while 17 were discharged from the BRD Medical College hospital, he said. At present, 131 encephalitis patients are undergoing treatment in the medical college hospital, while 15 are being treated at the district hospital here.
