Loan of Rs 4.44 cr given to 170 youthsn A loan of Rs 4.44 crore was sanctioned by the Haryana Harijan Kalyan Nigam to enable 170 youth to purchase light commercial vehicles. According to a statement issued here, a nominal interest of six per cent would be charged. The loan amount would be recovered through monthly instalments in about five and a half years.

Peace run organised
Trophies and cash awards were today presented to winners of a peace run organised by Surya Agroils Limited at Leisure Valley, Sector 10. The winners, in the order of merit are Saverbjit Singh (Sanjay Public School), Naveen Thakur and Akshey Kapoor (both from St Xavier High School).

Shift water bill collection counter
The Citizens’ Welfare Council, S.A.S. Nagar, have, in a statement issued here, demanded that the collection counter for water and electricity bills be shifted to Phase-I and Phase VI, respectively. They have also demanded the repair of damaged roads and side-walks, removal of congress grass and garbage heaps, and steps to eradicate mosquitoes and flies in the township.

250 YC workers resign
About 250 Youth Congress workers today submitted their resignation to Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee president Pawan Kumar Bansal in protest against the delay in removing four party workers accused of anti-party activities. According to a statement issued here, the workers also appealed to the party high command for the expulsion of the local party president.
